Vic Vergara

I am Vic Vergara and I have had a camera in my hand since way before digital cameras even existed. I worked in the modeling industry as a test shooter for various modeling agencies across the southeast for many years.

I am currently the director of photography for the Alabama Fashion Alliance as well as active in the modeling and fashion industry as a photographer for modeling portfolios and fashion shows.

My philosophy is simple, live in each moment and capture it in a millisecond, easy right? I shoot mostly fashion and editorial, it is my passion. My personal style has often been noted for my ability to capture the connection to the subject. This is achieved by, as a photographer, making a connection with the model, getting them comfortable to trust my vision and directing them with setting the story. As in life itself, capturing the moment with all the understanding
of the emotion needing to be conveyed is key.

My mentoring style is very loose and open and while I may teach you a thing or two about technique, it’s more about opening your mind to the possibilities of what you can create. I hope you can come join me in this workshop whether you are a new or seasoned photography veteran. If you are a model this is the workshop for you as well as a large part of it will be covering the model understanding some of the basics of a shoot and different direction styles.

So photographers, models, hair stylists, makeup artists, designers, and anyone else involved in the shooting process should hopefully come away with something as well as good time. I hope to see you there!

Some of the topics I will be covering at the workshop are...
 Communicating with the model.
 True collaboration with models.
 Understanding light and coaching models to understand the light.
 Narrowing the vision of your shoot at the shoot.
 Shooting on the fly.
 Understanding lens choice.

And of course, because a few of you have asked I will be covering…
